Between December 31, 2018 and January 1, 2019, at just the split of a second, we had to say goodbye to the old year and usher in a New Year with so much determination, enthusiasm and pageantry. Some did it in prayers at home, others in churches, at town centres with fireworks and so on. No matter how you welcomed this New year or how you said goodbye to the old, it is time for us to let go of the things that were tying us down and looking forward to take the path of a new beginning.

We are into the second week of the new year and the beginning of a new working week as I write now. A new beginning should be seen as a chance to achieve the goals we are working towards. We should not wait for the beginning of a new year to do that magic in our lives. Every day, every minute, every second marks a new beginning and serves as a launching point in the achievement of our set goals.

I know many of us took resolutions…Try not to over burden yourself with it. Just work towards being the best version of yourself. Don’t forget it is never to late to start. Everyday is different and has never been lived before and once it passes, we will never live it again. So live it as if it is the only day you have. Look at every passing day as a new beginning.

Start a new beginning with a plan on how you are going to achieve your goals. Not having a plan may not help you to achieve your goals and dreams. New beginnings are not usually easy. You need to enter with determination and perseverance. Don’t hesitate to change directions when necessary for only you know the best path to take.

Take each day as a new beginning in your life. Don’t give up, settle for the best only and don’t hesitate to start all over when you get stuck. Learn from your mistakes when you are starting all over again. Stopping should not be in your agenda, else you won’t be able to achieve your life’s goals. Welcome any opportunity to learn new things for there is no such thing as ‘age in learning’. If it means learning like a beginner, then take it and start a new beginning. As you learn, the world will open up to you.
