Purchase a Jumper to Support Homeless Kids in Cameroon

Dear Friends of UIC, you would remember a few months ago, I made an announcement that I was working on some Christmas designs. 2020 has been a challenging year and we will not let Covid-19 to ruin everything for us.

I am really thrilled to be introducing our Christmas collection which is now available for purchase from our online store. Matching sizes available for both kids and adults. The proceeds from the sale of these jumpers will used to support the homeless kids in Cameroon.

These jumpers are super soft and will be a perfect addition to you and your family to add some warmth and fun as it seems we will be having a digital Christmas this year. Who would have thought?!

I will be using these jumpers to raise funds and support the homeless kids in Cameroon such no child should go without food this Christmas. Just a bit of background why I chose the homeless kids in Cameroon to be the beneficiary for this fundraising project…

I am sure most of you know but for those who do not know, Cameroon (my birth country) is in turmoil with a civil war through the Anglophone crisis. A lot of innocent lives have been lost leaving the most vulnerable of the population – kids – to have no one to turn to.

Just a few days ago in the South West region of Cameroon, innocent kids in a state school were massacred just because they were in class studying for their future.

My Facebook timeline was flooded with not just pictures of rage, anger, and frustration but also the lifeless bodies of these innocent souls. I was deeply saddened.

I am usually not the one to get into politics, but a lot of kids are now traumatised in Cameroon.

Christmas is usually the time when families get together to celebrate the gift of life. Covid-19 has been pushing everyone apart and adding to the stress of the civil war, things are getting even tougher for families to cope in Cameroon.

I am sure you would be wondering, why is Yvette telling this to us today? The answer is simple, I need your help and here are the two ways in which you can support me with this project.

Purchase a jumper

By purchasing a jumper, you are helping me to raise some funds such we can support ‘Needful Children’ – a charitable organisation in Cameroon that is currently rescuing street, vulnerable and less privileged children and providing them with shelter, medicine, food, clothing, and most importantly their education and apprenticeship.

These group of volunteers advocate for the rights of vulnerable kids and help them to be reinserted back into the society.
