When we look at successful people, we have the feeling they live in another planet. What do they really do to become high-achieving persons? What have we been doing that is not the same as what the do to become successful? We keep on trying daily yet we have the feeling we aren’t doing enough to get that success. Are you ready to achieve success? If yes, then let’s see what successful people do that we aren’t doing.
What do you do at your free time? Let’s take for example you have at least 30 minutes free time daily. That gives us 30 X 365 which is 10,950 minutes every year. We are talking about 7 days and more. The sad thing is that we waste more time than that. How you spend your free time can be a determining factor for you to join the successful people club.
Successful people break their goals into bits and try to achieve them one after the other. They don’t pursue too many goals. Don’t get excited with many goals by trying to achieve all at once. You will end up wasting all your energy and achieving little.
What makes the difference is that those that successful people and those that are not is focus. Given equal resources and energy, if you don’t put your focus on one thing at a time, you will remain in the camp of those that are not successful.
What usually happens when you do not focus on specific goals at a time is that we get overwhelmed and start to procrastinating. That is the beginning of giving up.
Successful people see obstacles as a stepping stone to success. They are persistent in the pursuit of their dreams and life goals. They learn to conquer any doubts they have and perseverance in the midst of obstacles is one of the greatest part of their success stories.
Successful people do not make excuses for their mistakes. They know the future is uncertain and so go about their activities without the fear of the unknown. Once you have that in mind, it will be difficult for you to come up with excuses for not carrying out your responsibilities.
We usually spend time looking for reasons for not doing something. There are times we even go to the extent of looking for who to blame for not taking our responsibilities. We always make up reasons on why we did not, could not, would not or should not do something. What you may not take into consideration is that you are the only one who can decide or take control of your actions. Making excuses turns to rob that power in you.
Successful persons accept criticisms, take what they can take from it and throw away the rest. Once you decide to take the journey up to success, you should be ready to accept rejection. The fear of criticism and rejection is what stops so many of us from starting new things.
Creativity is all about looking at things in different ways and from different perspectives. Your success may depend on the feedback from others which you can use to improve what you are doing. Successful people learn from criticisms. They use it to focus and make their work better. Rejection is a stepping stone to pursue your dreams without interference.
To be in the club of successful people, you don’t need to add more things, but you will have to give up many things. You will have to give up on doing many things in life to achieve what you belief is success.
