Tips to Maintain Your Figure According to Age.

Did you make some resolutions this year to shed a few inches off your waistline? Then, you are not alone. Honestly speaking though, why is losing weight so easy in our twenties? As we grow older, it becomes increasingly difficult. The post today will share a few research findings and how to maintain your figure according to age.

At the age of 20, the body reacts super-fast to everything. Recovering from any illness is quick and almost automatic. The same thing happens with your weight. If you intend to lose a few inches in your twenties, a little perseverance and will power, will definitely give you the results you are after.

As we grow older, this becomes more complicated. The body slows down little by little, and the older we are, the harder it can be to lose inches from our body. However, it is not impossible to lose weight at the age of 30, 40, 50 or older.

So, what can we do?

To lose weight after 30

From the age of 30, several factors affect our ability to maintain this Spanish guitar figure. One of the main causes is stress. Being in a constant state of stress can cause the stress hormone known as cortisol to be released.

It is a great barrier in losing weight, and at this point in life, people may face midlife crisis, which means they live quite busy lives between work, family, and social commitments. So, the first step to lose those extra inches is to be able to deal with stress and have a stress management program in place which focuses on peace and rest.

It is important to take into consideration key hormonal factors, especially women at this age who are more prone to getting pregnant. This undoubtedly alters the hormonal levels while causing visible changes in the body which is normal.

Ideally, it is a good idea to start incorporating healthy eating habits when young such that the body is more receptive to these changes.

A recent study highlighted that restrictive diets will not be favourable for this age group. I think the key is to add some physical activity to avoid losing muscle mass.

To lose weight after 40

Everything said above counts to lose weight from the age of 40 too. However, some additional factors may also speed up the weight loss process. So, at this stage of life, it is essential to have a healthy eating routine.

Several research studies agree to the fact that our metabolism slows down with age, hence the reason it is important to have a body friendly routine, to help boost our metabolism a little bit.

Secondly, physical activity of any kind is essential too. The best thing you can do for your body is to keep it in some sort of movement every day, even just for a couple of minutes. Health experts do recommend a more intensive physical routine two or three times a week.

To lose weight after 50

I am not 50 yet but I have seen a lot of my family and friends lose weight after the age of 50. So, if you’re in that age bracket, know it is possible.

From all the studies I have read, healthy eating and maintaining an active lifestyle is crucial. Ladies at this age will need to pay special attention to menopause. Hormonal changes are normal.

At any age, resting well and following healthy routines will be the key to maintaining your figure. Some people may have less energy to do an intense workout. Do not feel discouraged, try low intensity exercises such as walking. Practicing yoga can be a great option too. Also, try a more balanced diet with lots of vegetables, fruits and water.

That’s all I’ve got planned for today (smiley face). Hope this post on the tips to maintain your figure according to age was useful. Please use the comments section below to share your thoughts with us.
