There are many benefits to walking, reason why you need to take at least 15 minutes of walk daily. Experts have suggested that when you take a brisk walk daily for 30 minutes at a moderate speed, it can help you burn fat and lower your blood pressure.

For those on a tight budget or who can’t afford the overpriced gym memberships, walking is a good alternative. Walking is not only free, but it is a part of our daily life. We walk everyday – within the house, in the office, and so on. However, what you need now is to change the walking mindset and be disciplined. You can take long faster walks to lose weight or relieve some mental stress and issues.

To take a brisk walk daily in the outdoors is a zero-calorie strategy to rebuilding your mood. I know of people who take coffee, beer, wine or chocolate to improve their mood. Some studies have shown that regular walking helps modify your nervous system which in turn decreases anger and hostility within you.

Walking with a partner, neighbour or in a group also helps to boost your mood. The interaction you have with people makes you feel connected which boosts your mood. Walking in groups is also important for your safety. It also serves as a great tool for motivation. When you walk with a partner or in a group, it is less likely that you would give up easily.

If you take a brisk walk daily for at least 30 minutes, you maybe reducing the risk of having a chronic disease. Studies have shown that walking helps to lower blood sugar levels. This is so amazing because it will save you time from the regular visits to see a doctor in the long run.

Walking helps improve the flow of blood to tense areas in your body. This helps to strengthen the muscles that surround your joints. It also could reduce the pain of arthritis in older people.

Walking has no adverse side effects. It is safe for older adults, and children alike. In this case, you lose nothing from taking a brisk walk daily.
