It’s that time of the year when people wish nice things to their loved ones and friends. Our schedules are just too busy that at times it’s not easy to remember such kind gestures.
I’ve been thinking….we usually remember our loved ones, neighbours or friends during this period, Has it ever occurred to us that people we may not know may also benefit from receiving such kindness from us? It may just be a kind word or deed done to a complete stranger.
We should never underestimate the power of a good deed or kind word to a stranger. In a previous post, I wrote how gratitude opened doors to Trisha. Even though Trisha was at the receiving end, she didn’t forget the help she received and returned the gentleman’s kindness by giving just a small gift to show her appreciation.
We should always make it a habit to say or do nice things to others – be it those we know or complete strangers. Christmas is usually the season when people do a lot of charity. Most of the time, they do it to well known charities or institutions that collect on behalf of them.
Imagine doing something to someone you have never met before and you don’t even think you will ever meet again! The happiness will be astounding especially when you see joy and appreciation on the persons face.
Let’s look at it in a different way. Imagine you do such a thing and never have the opportunity to know the results of the love that you just showed. You will stay in doubt because you don’t know if the person received it with joy or not. That not withstanding, we should learn to share the little things we think can make someone happy.
I call on all us to give a try this Christmas season by offering a gift to a stranger, sending greeting cards to random people or even taking out a homeless or needy person to a restaurant. It will make someones day and Christmas. Go ye out and make someone happy! ?
