Self-care Ideas for Busy Mums

Motherhood is so sweet, but not an easy task. Being a mother is a job on its own, the wage we receive is the love of seeing our kids grow up happy. I give my respect and take my hats off to all the mums out there because raising these cute beings from babies to mature adults is not an easy task.

Mums usually forget to take care of themselves after doing all the wonderful things for their families. We need to look good, get re-energised and make ready to carry out the next challenge. We always forgo taking care of ourselves and making sure every other person is being taken care of.

It’s a struggle for every mother out there, reason I wish to share some self-care ideas for busy mums today. 1. Read a book for fun

When was the last time you read a book just for the fun of it? If it can make you laugh, smile, then you will feel happy. It’s time you treat yourself by living such happy moments again. Laughter is the best medicine.

2. Exercise

Exercise is one of the best ways to improve your physical fitness. We need to get in shape. We spend a lot of time carrying out house duties and not giving time out for our bodies which also needs more care. Book yourself in for a full body massage

3. Meditate

Meditation helps bring out your positive inner self. It is time you revive your inner self by taking out time for meditation. You may want to know the benefits of meditation.

4. Set goals for yourself

The things you do for yourself helps you to live a fulfilling life. Therefore, it is not supposed to be everyone first and you last. Set personal goals and break them down so you can easily achieve them. Don’t forget that to live a happy life depends on you alone and not the people around you. I once shared with you some of the things you can do to live a happy life.

5. Go for a walk

When I want to shake off some stress, I take a walk or run with music.

6. Some acts of kindness will be great

Sharing is caring. You can go volunteering, visit an old people’s home, an orphanage or wherever you can help someone out.

7. Take some days off for yourself

Plan a vacation alone or with friends. It will boost your happiness.

8. Make yourself look good

You need that manicure or pedicure and that new hairdo you’ve been thinking of doing. Every woman feels good when they look beautiful.

9. Do yourself some good by not procrastinating

I know how mothers will procrastinate when it comes to self-care. Stop the procrastination and go for what you want. Procrastination is a dream killer that should be avoided. Don’t let it steal away your dreams.

10. Take deep breaths

Looks weird right! Very helpful indeed. Deep breathing got some health benefits.

Don’t do everything

You can’t push yourself to the point of a full burnout. Take some time off and sit back without doing anything. Put your feet’s up and enjoy a nice cup of tea with your favourite biscuit. Don’t even try to think or feel guilty. Just do it.
