6 Tips to Having a Happy Motherhood

Motherhood is an experience unlike no other on earth. It is possible to live it fully and full of joy. So how can you have a happy motherhood experience?

Nothing compares to a happy motherhood. It is one of the most overwhelming and sweetest experiences in life; It involves profound changes, but also beautiful discoveries. Hence, no effort should be spared such that everything runs smoothly.

How motherhood is lived depends on the attitudes adopted. What is clear is that an experience full of emotions is coming if you are a mother to be. It is important to prepare to live them with enthusiasm and not with anguish.

The post today is aimed at new mothers, but you’re welcome to read further if you are nosy like myself because it can also serve as a reminder to experienced mothers too.

Keys to having a happy motherhood

Although there is no manual to having a happy motherhood, there are some tips that can be adopted. These will prepare you to better cope with this magical, but also an overwhelming moment of your life. We present to you some of them.

The trust

It is important to cultivate an attitude of trust. The mother must believe in herself and her instinct, but also in life. You must hope for the best and convince yourself that everything will be fine. You should know that if a difficulty occurs, you will find a way to resolve it.

The opposite of trust is anguish, that is, assuming if something bad will always happen. If insecurity is allowed, everything begins to get in the way. It is better to work and develop a positive attitude such the outcome will be a happy motherhood.

Learn to ask for help

Some women do not want to be mothers but “super mothers.” They’re always trying to have everything under control and make everything look perfect; when they fail, they feel guilty.

No mother can take care of everything all the time. On some occasions, you might have to ask for help. This does not mean, far from it, that she is not capable. It simply implies that she is a human being and not an infallible machine.

Make smart breaks

This point complements the previous one. If a mother is overworked, she will not have a happy motherhood. Rather the opposite, little by little, you will feel increasingly overwhelmed. This spoils your physical and mental health.

This is the reason, it is necessary to pause relatively frequently and take a couple of hours for herself, that is, for her personal enjoyment. Well, go out to a place that relaxes you or to rest from the routine by sleeping for a while.

Not idealizing motherhood

A mother is not someone who knows everything, nor is she a person who can avoid any harm to her child. She is someone always trying to make right decisions for the wellbeing of her family.

Children see their mothers as omnipotent. It is part of their development that they perceive it that way. However, that is far from reality, since all mothers are people and motherhood is a daily work in progress. An excellent mother will make thousands of mistakes, but motherhood has a lot of magic too.

Find a support system

To live a happy motherhood requires a lot of support. Partly provided by the couple, and sometimes, by the extended family. However, the most effective support is other mothers as well i.e. her peers. It is important to mention that other women who are living the same experience can provide invaluable help.

Building a small support network with other mothers is a great idea. It helps to solve doubts, and also strengthen solidarity. No one understands one mother more than another. If you have friends, there is a higher chance of having a happy motherhood.

Forging an independent opinion

From the moment a mother begins pregnancy, she begins to listen to advice from others. Sometimes there are also questions and criticisms, on other occasions, flattery, and expressions of admiration.

You cannot have a happy motherhood if you depend a lot on the opinion of others. It is essential to strengthen your judgment. Be guided by your instinct and trust that you are always doing the best you can. Also, of course, turn a deaf ear to negative and unconstructive opinions.

Even though it is not Mother’s Day in the UK, I am using this opportunity to wish an incredibly Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and would-be mothers all over the world. Have fun ladies and see you in the next post.
